 Almost five million tones of waste paper are still sent to landfill or incineration each year - often causing the industry to import fibre to meet it's needs. Every new tonne of waste paper recycled will significantly reduce collection, transportation and disposal costs.
Landfill & incineration are disposal options that are not as cost effective as recycling, nor do they make environmental or economic sense. The difference between recycling and landfill has further been highlighted by the Landfill Tax, which imposes a set levy for every tonne of material buried, this levy is set to increase year on year. |
